ICF Charlotte Area Chapter Speaker Application Guidelines

Our Ideal Speaker

We are looking for interactive presentations relevant and interesting to professional coaches, organizational practitioners, strategic partners, coaches in training and individuals considering a career in coaching. We appreciate speakers who are adept at presenting to learners with a wide range of experience and who expand our thinking and skills with their work. Presentations should be informative and skill building, not focused on self-promotion or sales pitches.

We seek speakers for our monthly in-person meetings (60 minutes), for longer face-to-face learning opportunities (up to three hours) and for 60-90-minute webinars that may be recorded and archived.

Topics of Interest

  • The latest information about human behavior or physiology (e.g. neuroscience)
  • Coaching tools or techniques
  • Assessment tools or techniques
  • Entrepreneurial technologies, tools or best practices

What's in It for You?

  • Visibility and exposure to our ICF CAC community membership.
  • Real-time feedback and input to your presentation from attendees.
  • Receive results of post-presentation electronic survey of attendees regarding your presentation.
  • A table at the back or side of the room to promote your business / product.
  • Opportunity to promote yourself and/or programs in the last three minutes of your presentation.
  • You may pass around a sign-up sheet for attendees to provide their email addresses if they are interested in joining your email mailing list and/or would like additional information from you.

Speaker Expenses

Due to a limited budget, speaker travel or other costs will be at their own expense or at the expense of their employer.

Event Promotion

We promote our speakers and events in the following ways:
  • We email our members and affiliates on the first and third Mondays of each month to promote events occurring in the next week, the next month, and within the next three months.
  • The email messages link to the event promotion content posted on the icfcharlotte.org website.
  • We also promote upcoming events via social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook).

You are welcome to promote the event as well to bring additional interested parties to your presentation. Please note:
  • All parties must register for the event on the ICF Charlotte Areas Chapter website.
  • For in-person meetings, depending on our meeting location and time of day, there may be a required or optional meal fee.
  • Guests may attend their first meeting at no cost and all future meetings for $15/meeting.
