NEW EVENT: Coaching Conversations

When: 6/26/2018 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM
Where:
Amelie's NoDa, 2424 N. Davidson Street, Charlotte, NC 28205
The 2017 member survey suggested a need for more frequent, informal gathering of coaches to get together outside of the regular monthly meetings. Coaching Conversations are intended to provide new and experienced coaches with an opportunity to best practices, experiences and challenges in a relaxed environment. Each session will be facilitated by an experienced coach from our chapter and will focus on a specific skill or competency that relates to the art and process of coaching. These events will include group conversations and experiential exercises and are free to chapter members and affiliates. Guests interested in exploring the coaching profession are welcome.

Topic: Limiting Beliefs of a Coach

How does your "fixed" mindset (Carol Dweck) get in the way of your coaching? Do your limiting beliefs about yourself and your clients impede the realization of full potential, impact your coaching presence, the questions you ask, and/or your listening?

Questions that we will explore during this Coaching Conversations event are:
  • How do we define what's possible and impossible for ourselves as coaches?
  • What role does our environment have on what we think is possible/impossible?
  • How do we limit ourselves via our dislikes, biases, past experiences?
  • How do we limit ourselves via our likes?
  • What can we do to shift our mindset before and during our coaching sessions to best serve our clients?
ICF Core Competencies addressed: Coaching Presence, Active Listening, Powerful Questioning

Date: June 26, 4:30-5:45 p.m., networking to follow

Location: Amélie's French Bakery & Café, 2424 North Davidson Street #102, Charlotte, NC
We will meet in the atrium, located at the rear of Amelie's.
