The next ICF-Charlotte Book Club will discuss "Trust Factor: The Science of Creating High-Performance Companies"
at noon Friday, December 15, at institute
success, formerly Carolina Business Coach.
Neuroscientist Paul Zak writes that the key to changing unproductive workplace patterns lies in the way our brains respond to trust. When people show they trust us, our brains get a dose of oxytocin, the feel-good hormone. This prompts us to reciprocate and leads to a trust-building cycle. Zak's original research is the basis of his insights into ways we can consciously stimulate trust by celebrating effort, sharing information, and promoting ownership.
