The 2017 member survey suggested a need for more frequent, informal gathering of coaches to get together outside of the regular monthly meetings. The vision of "Coaching Conversations" is to afford coaches both new and experienced, an additional opportunity to share best coaching practices, experiences and challenges so as to develop and grow professionally in a relaxed environment. Each session will be facilitated by an experienced coach from our chapter and will focus on a specific skill or competency that relates to the "art" and process of coaching. There will be group conversations and experiential exercises. This programming is free to Chapter members and affiliates whom can bring quests that are interested in exploring the coaching profession.
Sometimes our brain gets in a groove as in "flow" or "the zone." And sometimes our brain gets in a groove as in "rut."
Thinking tools can not only help escape that rut, but also explore new territory, gain new perspective, and construct new paths forward.
In this Coaching Conversation, we'll first note some default thinking modes and their historical context. Then we'll explore parallel thinking (such as Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats), creative thinking and lateral thinking approaches, and other methods for intentionally changing thinking patterns.
Come to this conversation with examples of thinking tools you use in your coaching practice.
