March Coaching Conversations

When: 3/17/2020 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM
Where:
**Zoom Virtual Video Conference Only** (Link will be provided in registration confirmation)
Important Note: This Coaching Conversation will be held virtually via Zoom video conference only. We will NOT be meeting in-person. It will still be highly interactive and we'd love to have you join us!

Coaching clients often come into the coaching engagement or a coaching session with a problem they wish to solve. Many of us coaches came from previous careers in which we were experts expected and paid to solve problems. How do we turn off our innate problem-solving abilities? How do we stay true to coaching the client and not the problem? Problem solving for coaches...an oxymoron? Join this session to share and discuss ideas for how to maximize your curiosity; work with your client in a way that supports them as naturally creative, resourceful and whole; and keep yourself out of problem-solving quicksand.

During the coaching conversation we will:

  • Identify the difference between coaching the problem and coaching the client
  • Recognize when you're coaching the problem
  • Explore and discuss a mindmap of problem-solving questions as a potential tool to remain curious and focused on coaching the client, not the problem
  • Explore and discuss techniques for increasing the curiosity muscle

ICF Competencies:

This session has been approved for 1.0 Core Competency CCEUs for Coaching Presence, Active Listening & Powerful Questioning
