John will share his insights on psychological capital (PsyCap) and how you can integrate strategies with your clients in your coaching work.   In our session, John will discuss:

Psychological Capital PsyCap is a combination of four human qualities that affect behavioral outcomes: hope, confidence (efficacy), resilience and optimism. These qualities are all measurable, can be enhanced through effort, and have demonstrable positive impacts on individual and organizational performance. Building PsyCap results in greater self-awareness, more positive attitudes, greater teamwork, and sustained healthy cultures.  PsyCap is open to change and development.

PsyCap Four Elements How to deconstruct each of the qualities into their component parts and provide strategies to bring out each dimension in client behavior.    

The goals of the discussion are:

•    Understand the overall influence of PsyCap on human behavior. 
•    Identify individualized strategies that encompass each of the four PsyCap qualities. 
•    Demonstrate how to combine the PsyCap dimensions in coaching.

Meet our Presenter: John Yeager


John Yeager is the founder and chief executive officer of Yeager Leadership. Through his work with YL, he and his team help individuals and organizations discover their positive foundation, envision possibilities and then design systems strategies to provide a sustainable road map for success.  

John holds a Doctorate in Education from Boston University and a Master's in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania.  He has authored/co-authored a variety of books and book chapters.  His books include SMART Strengths: The Parent/Teacher/Coach Guide to Building Character, Resilience and Relationships in Youth; and The Coaching Zone: Next Level Leadership in Sports.  A book chapter is included in Character Strengths Matter: How to Live a Full Life. He has provided over 30 posts to the Positive Psychology News Daily site.   John is a certified DiSC consultant and Polarity Thinking™ consultant.
