Special Event: The Learning and Practice of Adlerian Coaching

When: 6/7/2022 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Program Description:
In this three-hour workshop, we will introduce coaches to Alfred Adler and illustrate why Adler is the "grandfather of coaching" by drawing parallels between the pillars of his theories and many of today's movements in coaching and psychology. Participants will explore Adler's Individual Psychology, and understand how and why it's relevant to coaching. Participants will also explore the gray zone between coaching and therapy, and will reconsider some preconceived ideas about the differences and similarities between the professions.

This highly interactive online workshop is sponsored by ICF Charlotte Area Charter Chapter and the Western Carolinas Coaches subchapter. Participants will practice at least five Adlerian coaching tools and exercises that will allow them to experience Adlerian coaching.

Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to
  • Describe who Alfred Adler was and what Adlerian coaching is
  • Use a number of new Adlerian coaching exercises and tools with their clients (at least five)
  • Better understand coaching client's behaviors and use specific techniques to help redirect discouraged clients toward encouraged behaviors

Note: Participants will receive a Zoom link upon registration.

CCEUs will be available for this program: 2 Core Competencies and 1 Resource Development Credits.
