Western Carolinas Monthly Program: Ethical Use of Technologies as a Coach

When: 9/10/2021 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Virtual Meeting - Meeting link is provided after registering.
The ICF Code of Ethics is designed to provide appropriate guidelines, accountability and enforceable standards of conduct for all ICF Members and ICF Credential-holders.  The Code and accompanying interpretive statements provide guidance for current and future use of technology and emerging trends. Specifically, in Item Four Ethical Standards, Section I: Responsibility to clients, item 7: "As an ICF Professional, I... seek to make proper use of emerging and growing technological developments that are being used in coaching services (technology-assisted coaching services) and be aware of how various ethical standards apply to them".

Our presenter, Cathy Liska, MCC, as a co-leader of ICF's Ethics Community of Practice, has deep insight into not only the Code but also the Interpretive Statements that further inform our responsibilities in this arena.  During this program, we will look at specific examples of how we use technology in the course of coaching and discuss how we can ensure compliance.  Together we will review case studies and collaborate on ethical dilemmas that can easily surface in our technology-driven world.
