We were trained to help people perform. This moment is asking us to help them become. This salon is an invitation for coaches to step back from technique and into a shared inquiry about the work itself. Together we will sit with a single question: what is this moment asking us to help our clients become? We will move from functional, performance-oriented coaching toward the developmental and transformational work the times now require. The format is a salon, not a lecture: a short provocation, Socratic dialogue, and small group rounds that build toward a felt sense of community. Coaches will leave provoked, reconnected, and holding a sharper question about their own practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Distinguish functional and performance coaching from developmental and transformational coaching and locate their own practice on that spectrum.
  • Use metaphor as an instrument of awareness, experiencing the shift from a journey frame to a network frame in their own thinking.
  • Surface a live, unresolved question about their coaching practice, and name one concrete practice to carry forward.
  • Reconnect with a community of peers around the deeper purpose of coaching in this cultural moment.

Meet Your Presenter: Dr. Will Samson

Will Samson is an executive coach, speaker, and writer, and the creator of Infinite Coherence, a framework for how identity, relationships, and community hold together in a leader and in the organization that leader carries. For more than twenty years he led enterprise transformation for Fortune 500 and regulated organizations. Then he rebuilt his own life from the ground up, and that reinvention became the root of everything he teaches. It taught him a truth he now brings to every client: an incoherent leader cannot build a coherent company, and no amount of performance can stand in for the person underneath it.

Today he coaches CEOs, senior teams, and fellow practitioners through the change that does not fit on a roadmap, and his recent work asks what it means to stay human in the age of AI. He holds a PhD and taught for several years at the college level. He writes weekly at drwillsamson.substack.com and hosts the Mission Driven You podcast.
